Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.

The Oshkosh Opera House Foundation, Inc (The Grand Opera House) and the UW-Oshkosh Department of Continuing Education and Extension proudly announce the return of FREE “Movies in the Park” to downtown Oshkosh this summer.

Six feature films will be shown on a 30-foot inflatable screen in Opera House Square, every other Friday beginning June 18 and running through August 27. Free admission to the series is made possible through the generous support of Mercy Medical Center, the Oshkosh B.I.D., Intergen, Caramel Crisp and Glass Nickel Pizza. Additional sponsors are still needed to help underwrite the costs of licensing these films.

Movies start at dusk and admission is free. Rain dates are scheduled for the Friday immediately following the original date. As a special treat, the July 16 screening of “The Muppet Movie” will be preceded by the annual “Grand Scoop” celebration in Opera House Square. The Grand Scoop will be the first opportunity for the general public to purchase tickets to the new Grand Opera House Season. The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes free Ice Cream and soft drinks, children’s games and activities, live entertainment and more.

American Family Insurance has partnered with Marcus Theaters again for “Kids Rule 2010”. This is a summer film series taking place on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00am. Admission is only $3.00, and includes complimentary popcorn. Some of the titles they will show include, “Shrek Forever After”, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. All movies assume a G or PG rating. Looking to enjoy the summer sun at one of Green Bay's premiere food festivals, while also supporting the revitalization of the Green Bay community? Green Bay's Taste On Broadway is seeking individual and group volunteers interested in providing their services for Green Bay's premiere food festival. Volunteers will support the success of the event through a wide variety of areas. All volunteers will receive an official Taste On Broadway t-shirt, as well as five (5) tokens, good for use at any Taste On Broadway vendor tent.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Set-up (12:00 NOON - 5:00pm)
Token Booth (7:00pm-9:00pm)
Beverage Booth (8:00pm-12:00am)
Raffle (5:30pm-7:30pm and/or 7:30pm-10:00pm)
Trash Patrol (5:00pm-8:00pm and/or 8:00pm-11:30pm)

West Allis, WI – April 5, 2010 – Wisconsin State Fair officials are excited to announce two additional shows at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Main Stage during the 2010 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U. S. Cellular. The 2010 Fair will take place Thursday, August 5 through Sunday, August 15 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.

On Saturday, August 7, the skills of several nationally known fighters will thrill Fairgoers during the North American Fighting Championship’s “Relentless” (formerly known as Gladiators Fighting). Pay-per-view stars and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans Nick Agallar and Razak Al-Hassan are slated for the main card event at 8pm. Undercard bouts between Wisconsin’s best fighters including local MMA stars Chico “King” Camus, Justin “The Fighting Fireman” Lemke and Kyle “Wicked” Weickhardt, and others will begin at 7pm. Fox Cities businesses, churches and community organizations are partnering together to help the less fortunate durin gthe Fox Cities First Annual Convoy of Hope outreach. The outreach will be held, rain or shine, at the Maplewood Middle School in Menasha. No identification is required. Groceries will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

The goal of the Convoy of Hope outreach is to reach out to children and families by meeting some of their most basic needs. More than 40,000 pounds of free groceries will be distributed along with free health screenings, job fairs, haircuts, games and activities for children, live entertainment, and it's all FREE!! Approximately 1,000 volunteers from churches, local businesses and community organizations will come together for this united act of compassion to make a difference in their community.

According to Dave Lehman, Convoy Co-Coordinator, "This is an exciting opportunity for the Fox Cities community to unite and do something positive to combat some pressing problems in our community. All guests at the outreach will be greeted with open arms and will be given nourishment for both their body and soul. These people are our 'honored guests' and we will do everything we can to make a difference in their lives."
