Good Fellas 25th reunion.  Watched an interview this morning on tv with Robert DeNiro, Paul Sorvino, Lorraine Bracco and Ray Liotta.  I love that director Martin Scorcese casted all Italians in this film about an Irish gangster turned drug addict.  But I also loved that movie despite all the violence. And how can you NOT love a film that breaks the record for the number of F bombs in the dialogue! LOL What?!  You’ve never seen it?  Netflix, baby…..Yesterday, what a freaking day for this producer! Not only did I start off with physical therapy on my poor aged knees, but then I had to jump through hoops to get a freaking doctor referral for a podiatrist to remove a severely impacted ingrown toenail!  This for a gal who is diligent about getting pedicures!  NIGHTMARE!  Then I had to rush to the office, get my work done there, write up an interview for Stone Temple Pilots (spoke with Chester Bennington and Robert Deleo.)  Was great seeing them.  Poor Chester is still recovering from his nasty ankle break.  He was has shocking pink hair (He never usually has hair, and colors it on the whims of this 3 small children!)  now and told me since his injury, he can no longer run around on stage, jump off the drum riser or play sports.   He walks with a limp (like me!)  The band is still working away on their new album, which probably won’t be out til much later this year, if not early 2016.  But they are in a good place and are excited about the new music. Chester says it’s freeing to be able to write lyrics about whatever topic moves him.   Robert and his brother Dean and drummer Eric Kretz are on the road for a bit and then Chester takes off again to do a brief run with his other band, Linkin Park.  Dean  was asked in a new interview with Yahoo! to compare current vocalist Chester Bennington with former frontman Scott Weiland. DeLeo replied, “There’s no comparison. It’s like talking about the strength of a two-year-old baby compared to a professional body builder. I’ll tell you this man, Robert , Eric and I are really fortunate. We’re having the time of our lives right now. We really feel like this has been a rebirth.” It is very cool that on this run, STP is donating $1 from each ticket sold to Music For Relief, directed at Hurricane Sandy victims.  The Deleos are from the ocean side community of Point Pleasant, which got seriously damaged during the storm a few years ago and is still struggling to get back on it’s feet. Good fellas, those guys! BTW: They signed our guitar that we’ll be giving away over Christmas. Find new STP tour dates for the fall in Road Rage…Then it was off to a marvelous sushi dinner with the fine folks at 10th Street/Better Noise  and we went over to see Apocalyptica who are touring with Sixx A.M.  It was great catching up with all and I hope you will see the band when they come to your town!…Pulse Of Radio reports Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor told Seattle radio station KISW he once turned down an opportunity to appear on Rock Of Love, the VH1 reality dating series in which 25 women would have competed to become his girlfriend. The offer was made to Taylor after Poison singer Bret Michaels starred for three seasons between 2007 and 2009 before declining to return for a fourth year.  Taylor explained, “I’ve gotten offered a lot of (non-music-related projects) over the years. I actually got called — I wanna say about seven years ago, I got called about being on Rock Of Love. I think Bret had passed on it, on one of the seasons. And I was, like, ‘Don’t ever call me again.’”  Taylor added, “I was, like, (trying to figure out) who in their right mind thought I was the perfect dude for Rock Of Love 12 or whatever the hell it was . . . At first I was pissed, and then I just started laughing — I was just, like, ‘You’ve gotta be kidding! Really?!’”  Taylor admitted he later had second thoughts about turning the show down, saying, “In retrospect, I was, like, ‘Man, I should have just done one week and just ruined it.’ (I should have done) the complete opposite of what could have been and just destroyed these people’s dreams.“  The singer, who recently made his acting debut in a movie called Fear Clinic, said that he gets a lot of calls about other films and projects, but said, “I’m not gonna be that guy that kind of cashes in my name for a quick paycheck.”  Taylor told us not long ago when he does get involved in a new project, he fully commits: I’ve always had the mentality that if you enter things with no expectations, you will give your best, you will give your all. You’re not worried about, you know, how it’s going to be received or if it’s gonna do well or if you’re gonna make any money at it. You’re just concentrated on making sure that it’s the best thing that you can possibly put out there. And it hasn’t failed me yet, hopefully.”  Slipknot’s Summer’s Last Stand tour kicks off on July 24th in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5th in Dallas. Joining Slipknot on the road trip will be Lamb Of God, Bullet For My Valentine and Motionless In White. The band has just launched a brief spring run that pulls into Pensacola, FL tonight  (Apr 29th) and ends on May 16th in Grand Rapids, MI. Slipknot is supporting its latest album, .5: The Gray Chapter, which came out in October. The latest single released from the set is called “Killpop,” which drops May 12th…. Deftones new album is set for Sep 25th. Matt Hyde, best known for his work with Slayer and Monster Magnet, produced.  Chino Moreno said the band worked differently this time around, with everyone working together in the same room.  Seems to be all the rage this year.  Meanwhile, Deftones have some shows coming up where they plan to perform Around The Fur in it’s entirety!….Smashing Pumpkins frontman William Corgan has landed a position as Senior Producer, Creative and Talent Development at TNA Wrestling, where he’ll be responsible for, among other things, developing characters and creating storylines for TNA’s Impact Wrestling, which airs Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET on Destination America. Corgan said in a statement, “Saying I’m humbled and honored by this opportunity to be part of TNA, a world-class wrestling organization, is an understatement and a dream come true. What’s great is the entire TNA organization stands in full support of my music life with the Smashing Pumpkins.” TNA president Dixie Carter said, “I’ve known Billy for years and have always been blown away by his musical artistry, as well as his knowledge and understanding of professional wrestling. He has always impressed me with his creativity and passion for our business.” Corgan resigned last year as creative director for Resistance Pro Wrestling, saying in a statement at the time that the organization “was no longer the company I thought I’d helped build from the ground up.” Corgan and the Pumpkins will embark on an eight-city acoustic tour starting on June 15th in Buffalo, NY, to be followed by a full co-headlining trek with Marilyn Manson that starts on July 7th in Concord, CA. Watch Billy in a video interview about his new TNA job….New album out today, Jekyll & Hyde from The Zac Brown Band.   Have a great day!
