Had a great day yesterday at the office with both Otherwise and Islander dropping by for interviews. Otherwise is stoked their new Peace At All Costs album debuted #50 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Islander also did one of the first acoustic performances they’ve ever done for “Coconut Dracula” and “The Sadness of Graves” off their Violence & Destruction debut album. Be watching out for the video of those performances on the new hardDriveRadio app! Also coming soon, Black Veil Brides video interview! In the meantime, today, Chad Taylor of Live will be on the hotLine. He’s gonna tell us all about their new album, The Return, which drops Nov 3rd. Gotta say, the new single “The Way Around Is Through,” harkens to their earlier days and new singer Chris Shinn (who’s replaced Ed Kowalczyk) adds new life to the band whose Throwing Copper was listed as Rolling Stone’s Top 25 Greatest Rock Albums of All Time! Looking forward to their tour later this month. Hit them up at Freaks4Live.com….Pulse Of Radio reports Three Days Grace has released a new song called “I Am Machine,” accompanied by a lyric video. The track is the second new track issued this year by the Canadian act, following the chart-topping “Painkiller” earlier this year. Both songs are expected to appear on the group’s upcoming fifth album, set for a March 31st, 2015 release date. Drummer Neil Sanderson told Lou Brutus what to expect from the new disc musically: “This record, we really wanted to go back to the raw, really aggressive, you know, sometimes rough around the edges and just bruteness. And that’s kind of what’s coming out and maybe it’s a reflection of just where our heads have been at and the experiences that we’ve had.” Check out the lyric video here….Halestorm’s new album was originally going to be out in October, but it has been moved to early 2015 so the band can have the luxury of more time and more of a stretch of off time. Arejay is getting married in late October, and Josh was married in August, so things work out for a reason, eh? But in the meantime, the band has posted the first in what is expected to be a series of video clips from the studio where the band is recording its third album. Shot on the quartet’s fifth day in the studio, the 13-minute clip features each of the group’s members discussing their work and hinting at what fans can expect from the follow-up to 2012′s Grammy-winning sophomore effort, The Strange Case Of . . . . Noting that the band members are recording their tracks together instead of individually, frontperson Lzzy Hale said, “It’s very performance-based. It’s very much based on whether or not we can all hit it at the same time or whether or not I can hit a note without having to be auto-tuned or something like that. It’s definitely a challenge.” Drummer Arejay Hale added, “It’s a way more organic way to record, which is a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that it really captures what we are as a band. It’s not manufactured or super edited or super perfect.” Lzzy told Gearphoria earlier this month Halestorm has “definitely evolved.” Lzzy and Joe are now living in Nashville and have been spotted sitting in on acoustic sets all around town. And the new album is being produced by Jay Joyce, who’s known for work with Cage The Elephant and Eric Church, but was also a guitar player for The Wallflowers, Iggy Pop and John Hiatt. They are recording in an old church Joyce purchased in Nashville. Halestorm will embark on a U.S. tour later this fall, beginning on Nov 11th in Chattanooga, TN… Pulse also says Ozzy Osbourne has revealed Black Sabbath will record a new studio album in 2015 and head out on one final tour. Ozzy told Metal Hammer magazine, “The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great. We all made friends, we didn’t f*** around, we all knew that we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.” Although the band has yet to write any new material, Ozzy added, “It’ll be sooner rather than later. Obviously a lot of it is coming down to Tony (Iommi)’s health, he’s obviously got his cancer treatment, but we’ll get onto it next year. I don’t know if we’ll be writing in England or L.A., but I’ll fly to the f***ing moon for it if I have to!” Ozzy said Rick Rubin, who produced last year’s 13 album, will likely be back for the next project…Former Audioslave bandmates Chris Cornell and Tom Morello reunited onstage at a benefit concert in Seattle on Friday night (Sep 26th.) The Rage Against The Machine guitarist and Soundgarden frontman collaborated on several Audioslave and solo Morello tunes, as well as a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Ghost of Tom Joad.” The concert raised funds for Morello’s 15Now organization, which aims to raise the national minimum wage to $15 per hour. During the show Cornell said, “Thanks to the sweating Tom Morello for generously sharing the stage with me. It’s cool to stand next to you and play music again.” Watch it here. (Loudwire)…Blabbermouth says Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix has co-directed the video for the title track from the band’s upcoming album F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise). Shaddix, who came up with the concept for the clip and has never directed a video before, said, “It’s pretty cool, man, ’cause the band is trusting me to co-direct this music video, which is the first time we’ve done something like this . . . I wanna visually let you see what’s in my heart when I’m creating this music.” …Weezer has posted the music video for their single “Back To The Shack,” from their Everything Will Be Alright In The End album, due Oct 07. The album is streaming now at iTunes. And the band just announced new dates….And finally today, very happy to report my friend Jonny Hetherington and the rest of Art of Dying have signed a new deal with Eleven Seven Records. He dropped me an email yesterday to share the news! The band is putting the finishing touches on their new album with producer and my bud David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Sleepwave, Of Mice & Men, Paramore.) Very excited for all involved and can’t wait to hear the new stuff! Look for a release in early 2015.
