Friday, Oct 31 HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Friday, Oct, 31 2014

Hello Ghosts & Ghouls!  Hope you have a great HALLOWEEN!   It’s one of my favorite times of the year!   If you missed last weekend’s HARDDRIVE HALLOWEEN HOOTENANNY, download the new hardDriveRadio APP  right now and listen!  It will definitely be your soundtrack to the day!…..It’s Friday (October 31st), which means it’s time for your weekly Foo Fighters track. This time the song is “Congregation,” which was recorded at Nashville’s Southern Ground studio with assistance from Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. The making of the song and the musical history of the city in which it was recorded will form the basis of Friday night’s third episode of Sonic Highways, the eight-part HBO series documenting the creation of the new Foos album.  Each installment of the Dave Grohl-directed series follows the band to a different city to record one song for the disc.  The first two episodes featured the recording of “Something From Nothing” in Chicago and “The Feast And The Famine” in Washington D.C. Check out the tune here. Meanwhile, Grohl might have been joking when he remarked in an interview with Studio Brussel that he’s already thinking about how he wants to make the next Foo Fighters album, saying, “Wait until you see what we’re doing for the next record. That’s some f***ed up s***. I already know what we’re doing for that, and it makes this look like f***ing kindergarten.”  Watch his interview here…..Papa Roach performed the title track from its new album, F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise), in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday night (Oct 29th) for the very first time, with the song captured on video by a fan. The band’s eighth full-length album is set to arrive on Jan 27th, 2015. Singer Jacoby Shaddix told us how the title concept came about: “I remember when we went into the studio initially, I had a bunch of butcher paper on the wall and that was the first thing I wrote on the wall, was ‘FEAR,’ and then underneath it, ‘Face everything and rise.’ And I thought that that acronym — just the duality of that acronym and that saying just rang so true to me and I felt it had to be on the record somewhere, somehow.”  The band will be touring the states with Seether, with dates to be announced very soon…..Stone Sour has set Meanwhile In Burbank as the title of its upcoming covers album, which is tentatively due out next year. The group is currently recording the set at a Burbank, California studio owned by Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga. There’s no word yet on which songs the band intends to include on the disc, which Stone Sour has had in the planning stages for years.  Singer Corey Taylor said on the Jasta Show podcast about the record, “This is something that we’ve been talking about since the first album came out, with Stone Sour. We’ve always wanted to do this. Even as people have come, people have gone, this is still something we’ve always come back to, and we just never had the opportunity to do it. And we just kind of said, ‘Well, screw it.‘”  Taylor added, “You’re going back to these songs that you just love to listen to, not only just sing. And that’s why it’s called Meanwhile In Burbank, because, without giving too much away, that’s where Roy lives — he lives in the Valley — so that’s why we call it that. Because it’s, like, that’s what we’re doing right now.”  Earlier this year, Taylor recorded a well-received cover of Dio‘s “Rainbow In The Dark” for a Ronnie James Dio tribute album and told us at the time what he wanted to accomplish with it: “I mean, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to touch Dio. I just wanted to kind of come close. It was just about having fun and getting the guys all together and being like, ‘Okay, we’ll do this and we’ll do that,’ you know, and just really try to get the spirit of the song out, you know. And it came together really, really quick.”  On its last North American tour, Stone Sour played a different cover every night, including Metallica‘s “Creeping Death,” Kiss‘ “Love Gun.” Judas Priest‘s “Heading Out To The Highway” and Peter Gabriel‘s “In Your Eyes.” Taylor’s other band, Slipknot, is enjoying the Number One debut earlier this week on the Billboard album chart of the group’s first record in six years, .5: The Gray Chapter….Metallica is prepping remastered deluxe editions of the band’s first two albums, 1983′s Kill ‘Em All and 1984′s Ride The Lightning, and is asking for help from their fans to put the sets together. Anyone who has photos of the group, along with memorabilia or audio of concerts Metallica played between 1983 and 1985, is being asked to submit them for possible inclusion in the reissues.   The band said in a post on its website, “We want it all . . . Did you manage to sneak a video camera into a show long before they fit in your pocket? Maybe your old instamatic camera for some snapshots? A cassette Walkman with a microphone? We’re looking for anything and everything . . . audio, video, photos, fliers, ticket stubs, the set list you picked up off the floor and in general any mementos you may have from that around that time.”  Fans with items of interest, including stories, can email info on what they’ve got to submissions@metclub.com. The band added, “By submitting it, you’re saying we can use it should your piece of history land on a release (yes, the lawyers made us add this part!).”  The group hopes to have both reissues out sometime in 2015.  The band also plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of its third album, 1986′s Master Of Puppets, in 2016 with a book on the making of the record.  Metallica confirmed earlier this week that it will spend the week of November 17th as the musical guests on CBS-TV’s The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson…..Those celebrating birthdays!  Today:  Larry Mullen, Jr of U2-53.  Frank Iero (ex-My Cheical Romance)-33, King Ad Rock-Adam Horowitz of the Beastie Boys-48.  Motorhead’s Mikkey Dee-51, Vanilla Ice-47   Saturday:  Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers is 52.  Sunday:  Fieldy from Korn is 45.

Thursday, Oct, 30 2014

Well, my BF  forgot to bring me the Halloween costume he got me. Left it at his house up in White Plains.  So now, I have NO HALLOWEEN COSTUME!  I am not happy. BOO!….On to the news:  Congrats to the “core members”  Corey, Jim, Clown, Chris, Mick and Craig.  Slipknot‘s fifth studio album and first in six years, .5: The Gray Chapter, sold approximately 132,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at Number One on the Billboard 200 album sales chart yesterday (Oct 29th). This is Slipknot’s second straight chart-topper following its predecessor, 2008′s All Hope Is Gone, which moved just under 240,000 copies in its first week.  Singer Corey Taylor told us why he’s especially proud of .5: The Gray Chapter“I think it hits on so many different levels, not only aggressively and heavy-wise, but melodically, artistically, atmospherically, lyrically, sonically — it’s our best sounding album. I just think that there’s a whole journey here that I’m really proud of.”  The new disc is the first by the band since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and the 2013 dismissal of drummer Joey Jordison. Both men were charter members and key songwriters in the group.  Although the identities of their replacements have not been officially revealed, they are believed to be drummer Jay Weinberg and bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella.   The new lineup made its live debut last weekend at Slipknot’s Knotfest festival in California. The band kicked off a North American tour with special guests Korn last night in El Paso  and will next stop in Dallas on Halloween!  Little known fact:  When Slipknot’s All Hope Is Gone topped the Billboard chart in 2008, it was due to an extraordinary and unprecedented SoundScan recount. The album was initially announced as a Number Two debut, just 13 copies behind The Game‘s LAX at Number One, marking the closest margin in SoundScan history. With such a small margin, Slipknot’s label, Roadrunner Records, requested an historic recount that put the band on top by a margin of 1,134 copies. ….Speaking of Korn, I see they’ve added a solo date, Dec 8th, at the Paramount in Huntington, NY…. Pulse of Radio  reports Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has told Studio Brussel in a new interview that a track on the band’s upcoming Sonic Highways album and HBO series, called “Subterranean,” was inspired by the end of his previous band, Nirvana. Grohl explained the first music he recorded under the Foo Fighters banner after the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was done in the same studio where Nirvana had recorded its last complete song.  Grohl recalled, “I didn’t want to make music any more after Nirvana, then time went on and I thought wait a minute, music is the one thing that’s going to help me start over, it’s going to heal me, so that’s what I have to keep doing. So I went back to that same studio, and recorded again, and my life started over again, so that becomes the theme of the episode, and that also becomes the theme of the song.”   That final Nirvana song was called “You Know You’re Right” and Grohl recalled the sessions: “We had some time off before a tour, and Kurt wanted to go in and demo some stuff, so I said, ‘Hey, why don’t we do it at this studio down the street from my house.’ And we went down there, and we had three days booked. Kurt came in the last day and we were like, ‘Okay, what do you wanna do?’ And Kurt said, ‘Well, why don’t we do that song we’ve been doing at soundcheck?’ And so we rehearsed it, I think, once, and then recorded it. Kurt did three or four vocal takes, and that was it.”  The Seattle episode of the HBO documentary series on the making of the album, also called Sonic Highways, will premiere on Friday night, Nov 28th. Have you been watching these episodes! They really are a great music history lesson…Blabbermouth said .Metallica has confirmed they’ve been booked to spend an entire week in November as the musical guests on CBS-TV’s The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. The band said in a statement, “We’re excited to celebrate Craig Ferguson‘s final season on CBS as he has asked us to join him for an entire week of performances starting Monday, November 17th. We’ll be playing every night that week and on the first night (Monday) we’ll sit down with Craig to chat about all things ‘Talllica.”   Members of Metallica’s official fan club, Met Club, should log in to the band’s web site for information about how they can be guests in the studio audience during the filming of the show in Los Angeles.  The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. EST. Ferguson announced his exit from the program in April, shortly after he was passed over to replace David Letterman, who also revealed that he would retire next year.  Metallica is reportedly getting back to work this fall on its 10th studio album, due out sometime in 2015, although we don’t know when they’ll find the time for it….My friend Slash is in the news. He’s the subject of a two-part documentary and live concert event presented by Guitar Center and Direct TV. The life and music of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be examined via a 90-minute live show filmed recently at the Roxy nightclub in Hollywood, followed by a 90-minute documentary that takes viewers into the studio with Slash while combining new and archival footage with interviews from the artists and colleagues who have influenced his career.  The documentary, called Slash: Raised On The Sunset Strip, covers his childhood in both England and Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon, his discovery of the guitar and arrival on the Sunset Strip, his meteoric rise with Guns N’ Roses, the evolution of Velvet Revolver, his solo career and his current band, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.   Artists interviewed for the documentary include Dave GrohlAlice CooperJoe PerryDuff McKaganSteven AdlerMatt Sorum, Jerry CantrellLemmy, Slash’s wife Perla Hudson and more.  Check out these trailers.  Here and here…..Avenged Sevenfold is taking the rest of 2014 off and will spend some of that time working on a brand new DVD. Singer M. Shadows said the band is dealing with mixes and editing and artwork for the disc, which should come out sometime early next year. He told us the documentary uses the 2009 death of drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan as a starting point: “The DVD will take place right before we lose Jimmy, and then it’s gonna basically take you all the way through to now. So it’ll be mixed in with some live performances, but there will also be a very strong story arc to what our story is and what’s going on with us.”  The singer added that the DVD will contain performances from the band’s sets at key events like the Download FestivalRock In RioRock On The Range and others.  Avenged Sevenfold will tour Southeast Asia and China in January and will tentatively start writing music for the follow-up to last year’s Hail To The King next summer….Spoke with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach yesterday just before the band’s gig with In Flames in Berlin.  He told me all about the making of the new album. F.E.A.R.,  the single and talked about some of the other tunes, including “Gravity,” which features Maria Brink of In This Moment.  The opportunity to work with her arose when both bands were in Chophouse Studios in Las Vegas working with the Churkos (Kevin and son Kane.)  The song is heavy, about the trials and tribulations of Jacoby’s relationship with his wife Kelly.  He said Maria went into the booth and free-styled the woman’s side of the story.  Can’t wait to hear that.  Meanwhile, seems Coby has embraced not only his sobriety, but his new found spirituality on this one.  Hey, in this world, it ain’t a bad thing!  Also happy that guitarist Jerry Horton has really come into his own as his photography will be the album artwork!  Coby also told me he co-directed the music video for the new single “Face Everything And Rise.”  It was shot in the desert in Southern Cali.   Hot, dry and “painful,” as quoted by Jerry!   And now I have to find a way for Lou Brutus and I to get over to Germany!  The band has invited us to be their guests on the band’s bus when they play Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring!   So listeners of GONG 97.1, you may get to meet the one and only Lou Brutus in June!   Stay tuned. We may have to start a crowd-funding campaign for this trip!…..Nickelback will make a major announcement  (I believe it will be their 2015 tour) and give a special live performance next Wednesday (Nov 5th) at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. All proceeds from the sale of tickets, which go on sale Thursday (October 30th), will be donated to the International House Of Blues Foundation Action For The Arts grants programs. Nickelback’s new album, No Fixed Address, comes out November 17th…..Halestorm will release a vinyl edition of both of their previously released covers EPs, titled ReAniMate: The CoVeRs Collection (2011-2014) on Dec 2nd via the band’s webstore. Halestorm will take a break from the studio for a string of headlining shows starting on Nov 11th in Chattanooga, TN, followed by a run of shows with country rocker Eric Church which begin  Jan 8th in New Orleans…. Monday, big announcement from the Linkin Park camp!  Keep your eyes peeled for news. Also news coming on Nothing MoreHappy 49th today to Gavin Rossdale of Bush!

Going to see Harry Shearer (you know him from his characters on The Simpsons “Mr Smithers” and Spinal Tap.)  He’s doing a show called “Nixon’s The One”  off-Broadway tonight as part of a mini-seris on the Nixon tapes.  He does a damn good  Tricky Dick, if I say so myself!….Pulse Of Radio reports Soundgarden will release its long-awaited collection of rarities and non-album tracks on November 24th, titled Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path. The three-disc set will contain seven never-before-released songs, including the newly recorded track “Storm,” along with original B-sides, instrumentals, covers and demos recorded throughout the band’s career. The collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil, who said, “As album sets go, this one has been fun to collect and compile over the decades. I personally may have referenced this project a number of times over the years, going back almost 20 of them to the mid-90s!”  Singer Chris Cornell told us recently why the B-sides set was important to Soundgarden: “B-sides were sort of extra tracks for outside the U.S. releases. I always felt like that was sort of a backhanded slap to our fans in the U.S. or Canada, because those were our hardcore fans that had been there from the very beginning, and yet we’re giving away this other stuff to other people. Because of that, we’ve always kind of been chomping at the bit to make this B-sides record.” The set will come in three different packages that are all available for pre-order at Soundgardenworld.com. The first disc is subtitled “Originals” and will feature Soundgarden-written B-sides plus the previously unreleased “Storm” and “Kristi.”…Pulse also ran this today on another group of friends from Seattle.  Alice In Chains has teamed with BitTorrent Bundle for the premiere of the new music video for “Phantom Limb,” the fourth single from the band’s 2013 CD, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. The clip was directed by Robert “Roboshobo” Schober, who also helmed the videos for the disc’s three previous singles, “Hollow,” “Stone” and “Voices.” Schober has also directed clips for Metallica and Green Day.  Alice In Chains songs and videos have always contained dark imagery and guitarist Jerry Cantrell told us he just naturally writes that way: “It’s never been my intention to be dark. I guess I just maybe talk about stuff that’s more real, you know what I mean? There’s plenty of stuff out there to distract you from stuff. I’m not really trying to distract anybody from anything, and I’m trying not to look away from myself or somebody else that’s either scary, disturbing, something that I don’t like about somebody or myself. I’m trying to look at those things without looking away.”  Fans who access the seven-minute-plus video through BitTorrent can download the clip, unlock notes from the director and get exclusive access to merchandise.  The first two singles from The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, “Hollow” and “Stone,” both hit Number One on the rock radio airplay charts, while the album itself debuted on the Billboard album chart at Number Two.  The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is Alice In Chains’ second album with singer William DuVall and followed up 2009′s Black Gives Way To Blue, the group’s first all-new collection of material in 14 years….Wow.  Haven’t heard this producer’s name mentioned in quite some time! Muse have confirmed they are working with legendary producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange on their seventh studio album, according to Classic Rock. The band revealed the news via their Instagram page, posting a photo taken in 1980 of Lange in the studio with AC/DC and adding the caption, “We are honoured to be making our new album with this legendary producer. #backinblack”  Lange produced AC/DC’s landmark 1980 album Back In Black, as well as their previous effort, 1979′s Highway To Hell.   He also produced Def Leppard‘s massive Pyromania and Hysteria records, as well as the more recent Nickelback offering Dark Horse.   Muse self-produced their last two albums, The 2nd Law and 2009′s The Resistance….Speaking of AC/DC, I am so excited to tell you Angus Young and Cliff Williams will be headed into the hardDriveRadio studios next month!   Now’s your chance to ask questions!  Send them in via the Interact Live link on the hardDrive Radio App or email them via the Interact link on the home page here. And in other news,  AC/DC singer Brian Johnson has recently lent his support to a little-known charity called the Sporting Memories Network, which deals with people suffering from dementia. According to the Northern Echo, Johnson called the organization on his own and offered his encouragement and support for their work. Its director, Tony Jameson-Allen, said, “It’s an absolutely amazing boost for a charity run by two people to receive a phone call from the singer of a group that has sold more than 200 million records worldwide.”  Johnson reached out to Sporting Memories after hearing about their projects with older people, especially men, who have been suffering from mental health issues.  AC/DC guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young left the band earlier this year, with his family confirming that he was afflicted with dementia.  It was reported that the 61-year-old musician suffered a stroke earlier this year.  Unlike other anti-dementia charities, the Sporting Memories Network is focused on treatment, not research, using sports memories to help people suffering from dementia, depression and social isolation.  When speaking with the organization, Johnson recalled his own childhood sports memories, including going to watch U.K. football team Newcastle play in his youth. AC/DC will release its 16th studio album, Rock Or Bust, on Dec 2nd. Malcolm and Angus Young‘s nephew, Stevie Young, has stepped in to play guitar on the record and upcoming world tour……And today, I will have Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix calling in from Europe.  Schedule conflict yesterday, so please, get your questions in asap!….This is pretty cool.  Pulse ran this item today.  Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich joined his father, 86-year-old Danish musician, filmmaker and former tennis pro Torben Ulrich, on stage this past Sunday (Oct 26th) at a venue in Copenhagen, Denmark for an improvised set of experimental music as part of this year’s Wundergrund festival.  (See picture here.) An audience of about 150 people watched the performance, which also featured pianist Soren Kjaergaard, drummer Claus Boje and bassist Peter Friis Nielsen.   Torben Ulrich and Soren Kjaergaard have made three albums together, including the newly released Meridiana: Lines Toward A Non-Local Alchemy.   The elder Ulrich is said to be Metallica’s biggest fan and its sternest critic as well.  Lars was initially going to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career as a professional tennis player. Asked in a 2005 interview if he was disappointed that Lars didn’t pursue tennis as a career, Torben said, “No, no. The main thing was that he do what he thought was his choice — not our choice.”  Lars recalled in a 1995 interview that he “grew up in as open an upbringing as you can imagine . . . I was very independent. I had nothing tying me down. At the same time, anything I wanted I had to get it myself.”  Lars added, ”Even though tennis was his main source of income, my dad was also writing about jazz in the papers in Copenhagen. Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman were always playing in the stereo around the house. Later it was the Doors and Jimi Hendrix.”…Happy 45th today to S.A. Martinez of 311.  Happy 57 to The Simpsons’ Dan Castellaneta and today would’ve been Quiet Riot’s Kevin DuBrow’s 59th birthday.  Rest In Peace.

Today, Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach is calling in from Europe to tell me all about their new single (coming Nov 4) and album, “F.E.A.R.” (“Face Everything and Rise”.)   Got a question you’d like to ask?  Send it in to me via the APP  in Interact Live  or email via the link on the home page!….Volbeat has announced their first dates for 2015 with Anthrax.   While they are now headed back to Denmark, they are going to start work on the writing process for their next album.  The tour kicks off in Denver on April 24 and ends in “yo” Brooklyn, NY  on June 02.  See Road Rage for the dates…..Pulse of Radio reports this! With Soundgarden and Pearl Jam both on the bill at Neil Young‘s annual all-acoustic Bridge School Benefit  over the  weekend, a reunion of the two bands’s one-off 1991 project Temple Of The Dog seemed almost inevitable. Well, that’s just what happened on Saturday night (October 25th) when Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell strolled onstage during Pearl Jam’s set for a performance of “Hunger Strike” from Temple’s single self-titled album.  The performance at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA marked the first time Temple Of The Dog reunited since a show to celebrate the release of the film Pearl Jam Twenty in Sep 2011.  Temple Of The Dog officially consisted of Cornell, Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, and Pearl Jam guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard, with contributions from Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder.   The project was launched as a tribute to late Mother Love Bone singer Andy Wood, who died in 1990. Ament and Gossard were members of Mother Love Bone, while Cornell and Wood were close friends.  Meanwhile, Soundgarden has unexpectedly released a new song called “Storm,” which the band recorded in May with legendary Seattle producer Jack Endino. Although it’s not clear whether the new song is a preview of the next Soundgarden album, Cornell told us recently the band will make a follow-up to 2012′s King Animal: “We’re definitely gonna start writing new songs and I think we’ve all agreed on several occasions that we want to keep doing it. And I think it will be very similar to King Animal in that there’s no clock on it. And I also see us going out into some new Soundgarden frontier musically and see what it is, and hopefully we’ll be here in a year or two talking about what that is.”…..Footage of both complete Slipknot headlining performances at this past weekend’s Knotfest, which featured the live debut of the band’s new lineup, has been posted online. The band played very different set lists on Saturday night (Oct 25th) and Sunday night (Oct 26th), with only four songs showing up in both sets. I posted the set lists yesterday.   Singer Corey Taylor told us the band might keep changing the set list on its North American tour, which starts tomorrow (Oct 29th): “The worst thing you want to do is get lethargic when it comes to the set, because if you’re bored with it, the audience is gonna be bored with it. For us, I think the plan is we’ll be able to have a whole wheelhouse of music that we can go to to make a different set every night, you know, and mix and match and put together a great set so when fans come to see two different shows or three different shows, they’re not gonna get the same set every night.”.  Watch the Saturday performance here, and the Sunday performance here!….OK, so let’s give Aaron Lewis a break.   He got a little tongue-tied on the lyrics to our national anthem during the game on Sunday.  We can’t hate on him for that!   Lewis issued an apology, saying, “All I can say is I’m sorry and ask for the nation’s forgiveness. My nerves got the best of me and I am completely torn up about what happened. America is the greatest country in the world. ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ means so much to so many, including myself. I hope everyone can understand the intensity of the situation and my true intent of this performance. I hope that the nation, Major League Baseball and the many fans of our national pastime can forgive me.” ….Marilyn Manson has leaked  ”Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge” online. The song  will be included on Manson’s new studio album, which he recently completed for release in 2015. I’ve heard a couple of tunes from it so far, this being one.  I think it is some of his best work in a while.  The shock rocker’s most recent full-length CD, Born Villain, came out in May 2012. I heard from his new label the actual radio single isn’t coming til mid-Dec, so this is just to get our juices flowing for his new music.  I like it and you may hear it soon on hardDriveRadio, so be listening! Funny story:  I was set to get an interview with Manson when they performed at Ozzfest in 1997 at Giants Stadium.  Got there for my 3:30 PM before-show interview time, and was told by his tour manager, it would have to wait til AFTER his set, which was a few hours later.  OK.  Hung out, watched some bands, saw his set. (I remember seeing Sharon Osbourne and the kids, Kelly, Jack  who both  had to be younger than 10 at the time. Aimee was the oldest, probably 11 or 12 then.) Anyhow, during Manson’s set he brought out a bottle of red wine, which he drank part of and poured part of on his body.  Then he broke the bottle, and when he did, he cut his hand really badly.  He did the rest of the set with a towel wrapped around his hand.  Set was over, I followed them backstage and waited outside the dressing room.  Twiggy Ramirez walked out of the room saying “Ew, you can see the bone!”  I knew then, no interview was happening for me.  Manson walked out, towel around hand, and into the MTV booth to talk to them and then was wisked away in a waiting car for the hospital to get stitches.  I am STILL waiting for a make-good on that interview!  LOL Hopefully, on this album cycle.  His manager and I still laugh about it!….Van Halen & Tremonti bassist Wolfgang Van Halen has finished laying down bass tracks for 20 songs that are being considered for inclusion on the second album from Tremonti, the band led by Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti. A listening party for the album, which will follow up 2012′s All I Was, will be held on Jan 31st, 2015 in Orlando, FL….Happy Birthday today to Monster Magnet’s Dave Wyndorf-58.  Bill Gates-59  and Geno Lenardo (ex Fileter/Chevelle)  is 45.
