Back in the early days of Razor 94.7, Full Devil Jacket played one of the first ever Razor rock shows at Ryan's Ballroom in Combined Locks. The venue was previously a school - turned tavern - and still had church services on Sundays in the gym/ballroom. Sept. 1st, 2001, Full Devil Jacket rocked that place and it was great to hang with the guys after the show - always great with their fans. The band released an EP titled "A Waxbox To Put Your Frankenstein Head In..." (October 1999) and then their self-titled LP Full Devil Jacket (March 2000). Seemed like they were on their way, then the band fell apart...and members moved on to other projects...until now. They are back and releasing a new album "Valley of Bones" on March 31st. Can't wait to hear it!
In 1991, members Soundgarden and Pearl Jam both appeared in and were writing songs for the movie "Singles." While trying to come up with a fictional band name for the film, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament put "Spoonman" on the list. Chris Cornell took that rejected band name and was further inspired by Seattle street performer, Artis the Spoonman, who played music with a set of spoons, to play on the song's instrumental break and be the star of of the song's video.
An acoustic demo of the song can be heard in this scene from the movie "Singles."
