Billy Corgan to Perform at Cyndi Lauper's Holiday Benefit Concert
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will perform at Cyndi Lauper's sixth annual Home for the Holidays benefit concert. The event will support Lauper's charitable organization, True Colors Fund, which aims to raise awareness about youth homelessness in the LGBT community.
"For the sixth year, 'Home for the Holidays' will bring together an incredible group of performers to support the True Colors Fund's work to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth," says Lauper in a statement. "Our voices are stronger when we say something together. I'm so grateful to the artists, who are donating their time and talent to bring attention to this very important cause."
Corgan is certainly familiar with Lauper's music, having covered the '80s pop icon's hit "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" during his tour with Marilyn Manson last summer.
The Home for the Holidays concert will be held December 3 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster.com starting Friday, October 28.
