Black Veil Brides' Andy Biersack and Wife Juliet Simms Issue Statements on Airplane Incident

Chelsea Lauren/WireImageBlack Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack and his wife, singer and former The Voice contestant Juliet Simms, have both issued statements regarding a recent incident on an airplane, during which Simms accused Biersack of breaking her ribs.

According to TMZ, Simms hit Biersack in the face while arguing during a flight. Footage obtained by the gossip site shows Simms yelling, "A guy can break a girl's ribs, but you can't touch another guy's face." Witnesses tell TMZ that Simms was upset about a recent miscarriage she suffered. She was reportedly detained by the FBI after the plane landed.

In an Instagram post, Simms says that she was intoxicated during the incident and that she "apologize[s] to my husband for what I did and said and for upsetting anyone who was caught up in this." She adds, "I really did not intend for our misfortune on the baby making subject to be aired in the way it was, but we are young and healthy, and are told this happens so are happily looking forward to the future with children."

Biersack also created an Instagram post, in which he says, "We are currently home and safe and trying to emotionally recover from all of this."

"My wife no longer drinks but due in large part to a myriad of recent upsets including some tragic family news she became intoxicated during the flight and was left confused, blacked out & disoriented," he says.

"She said things that are not true and are in no way her or a part of her character," he adds. "And despite rumors or conjecture I will definitively state that we have a happy and harmonious marriage."

Biersack and Simms got married earlier this year.
