Mar. 3, 2010 Finnish cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA have set "7th Symphony" as the title of their seventh studio album, which is scheduled for a summer release. The CD was once again produced by Howard Benson (MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH, SEPULTURA) with "strong artistic direction" from Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, COHEED & CAMBRIA), who recently spent time in Finland with classically trained cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Perttu Kivilaakso and drummer Mikko Sirén perfecting the final details. Dave Lombardo of SLAYER, along with several other surprise guest musicians, also participated in the project.
The new LP will follow up the band's chart-topping release "Worlds Collide" (2007) featuring the #1 Billboard single "I Don't Care" produced by Benson. THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier provided vocals for the track and sultry video, which became a top 20 fixture on the modern rock charts for nearly an entire year.
