Jan. 24, 2013
Sure we have all heard The Black Keys songs show up in commercials, but they agreed to it. The band is now charging casino operator Pinnacle Entertainment of improper usage and has filed a lawsuit to stop it.
They say that Pinnacle is using a song that is "substatially similar" to 'Howlin' for You' in some of their advertisements. They say that Pinnacle has violated trademark law and state that the company has "suggested a false designation of origin as well as making unfair competition for them."
There has been a claim by Pinnacle on Twitter and YouTube that the song in question was "a licensed musical interpretation."
Fight!
